It consists of: Rockmaster, Korg SDD-2000, ADA MP-1.What I do need though is a valve power amp. I can't pay more than
Members JMPMarshall
I used to have a Marshall 9004, it wasn't very loud. The 50/50 Marshall have reliability issues. Though I've heard good things about the 2/100. Those are both more expensive. For the price Peavey is the way to go.
Members separanets
Do you mean the 9005 has reliability issues or 9100 (also 50/50)? And 2/100 , what is it -- the 9200?
Members JMPMarshall
I don't know the model numbers. The Dual 5881 poweramp, 9100 I think you called it, as well as the newer el34 poweramps have the reliability issues. (I've heard about a lot of blown transformers) The Quad 5881 poweramp, is fine from what I've heard.
Members separanets
Probably. I think all the 50/50 Marshalls do have the known bags and all the 100/100 do not. p.s. Do you think the EL34 50/50 is better than the 9005?
Members JMPMarshall
The 9005 is the way to go. It seems the EL34 50/50s isn't much better than the 9100 since it has the same problem with cooking transformers.
Members separanets
I'm just curious what's the true reasone, why the transformers are burt off in these amps? Does anyone know?
Members tats_dragon
That's a great start of a rig. I've been using a Rock Master for over three years and love it.Look for Peavey classic 50/50, 60, 60/60, 120, or 120/120 tube power amps, should be cheaper than the Marshalls Jun
