Members rackq
I may have a chance to get a JFX-1 multi effects unit. I was just wondering about a few issues I have heard. Is the internal battery no longer manufactured and impossible to replace? Are they unreliable? Thanks for any help.
Members wrathchild1
Hmm, I didn't know they had a internal battery? I used 1 for about 5 years, never had a problem. I liked the delay on it, I never really used it for anything else. (plus it looked nice with the JMP-1 and marshall power amp) I'd pick it up. If you get a good deal, it says marshall on it, so you really cant wrong from a selling point.
Members rackq
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, they definitely have a battery. I can't find anything about it with google though. Anyone know what battery type and if it is user replaceable?
Members SirLemonhead
I always wanted one just because it looked cool (and I have a JMP1)
Members wicker.man
I like it. It's a nice straight forward unit and it sounds really good, and I've had no reliability problems whatsoever. I don't know what type of battery it uses, but you can check the battery level easily. Press 'System', use the up/down arrow keys to move the cursor so it rests under BAT and then press 'System' again. You should get a battery level indication something like: ok [**********] - number of stars indicating battery level. I've just checked mine and it's 9/10 full, just as it was a year or so ago... The manual says that the battery should last for a number of years, and the unit should be returned to 'your nearest authorised service centre' for replacement. My guess is that it's a standard lithium battery. Best bet is to ask Marshall.
