Members kirkster57
Ok....In my new rack setup I have two preamps that I want to be able to use interchangeably, but not at the same time. My desire would be to plug into whichever one I want to use, but have them both hooked through the same power amp. So I am going to have my Voodu Valve and Mako Mak 4 preamps in the rack, but want to be able select the one I want to use, plug into the input of that preamp and start playing. What would be the best way to go about this kind of a set up if it's even possible to? Thanks, Kirk

Members kirkster57
That looks like it would do the trick. Too bad it costs over $300. Thanks for letting me know about it. http://shop.toursupply.com/tour-supply-s-custom-whirlwind-rack-mount-multiselector.html
Members Elric
If you want it for cheap, use something like a Boss LS-2. I have a stompbox like it but I made mine myself.... It's true bypass and about $10 worth of parts... I actually swap my combo amp's preamp out for an external preamp back and forth with it using the combo amp's serial FX loop. It's bad ass. Only downside is it takes like SIX cables.1,. Guitar to box2, Box A output to preamp 1 in3, Box B output to preamp 2 in4. preamp 1 out to box A input5. preamp 2 out to box B input6. Box selected output to power amp (in my case FX return) input.
Members Inazone
Radial Bigshot: http://www.tonebone.com/re-bigshot-aby.htm I just bought one and haven't hooked it up yet, but I emailed Radial tech support (before buying it) and they assured me that it can be used to A/B two different preamps on the same power amp. Members jimosity
I do this with both an Axess Electronics GRX4 or a Voodoo Labs GCX so that I can choose which unit is active via midi.
