Members Bassin' 'Round
Hi. I want to use an iPad to feed source music through an A&H Zed 10FX mixer & then to my powered speakers. Will this work seemlessly? Thanks.
Members Miko Man
"It depends." If you have an appropriate cable (to separate stereo L and R, or sum to mono), and bypass the iPod tone controls (or return them to flat), yes, it should be seamless. A 3.5mm (1/8") TRS plug stereo cable to a 1/4" TRS plug into a mono channel will be bad news. If I want to run an iPod into a single (mono) channel, I use a summing direct box. I can use a summing direct box straight in to the back of my self-powered speaker, and skip the mixer if needed, since the speakers let me select mic or line level inputs. Mark C.
