Controlling DMX stroboscopes with midi Focusrite output

Hi all,

I am new here on the forum and I am looking for someone who could help me out with a problem controlling a DMX strobe by midi.

With my band we had the great idea to start using our own lights with a backing track. We already play on click track so it could not be too hard to start

using our lights in the same way.

We have a little light controller what acts as a midi to DMX converter, to program our light 'midi notes' on our mac into strobe flashes.

Our gear, signal flow wise is the following:

MacbookPro with the DAW reaper -> midi output -> Focusrite 2i40 -> Light Controller AYRA OSO 192 Operator -> Strobo AYRA flash 1500D

What I did found out is that when I switch in my DAW (Reaper) the midi note, the light controller reacts, so the midi connection is fine.

The only thing I need to know is "how do I make a simple chase on the controller, with the purpose to react when a midi note is played and converting it in 1 flash? (Depending on the length of the midi note)"

Is this even possible or I am doing it completely wrong?

I hope someone has experience in doing this kind of controlling with lights!

Cheers!
