Members Ovationman
Ok I recently bought a Boss DD-6 pedal for my vocals. And I want to use it when im preforming live. Heres the problem...I hook up my mic XLR cable to a Transformer I bought to turn the low output into a high output sound. Now the output on the pedal is a 1/4 cable slot which works fine for when im at home and i have it hooked up to my amp. But when i want to bring it for my live shows dont i have to hook it up with in XLR cable? Do i need to get some kind of converter? Or can i still use a 1/4 cable? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Eric
Members agedhorse
Yes, you need to use a passive direct box, one with an audio transformer inside it and one that is not ground lifted (pin 1 connects from the sleeve of the unbalanced 1/4" jack). They should cost you around $30. Do not use a plain adaptor cable because the effectis of phantom power, should i be present, could damage the pedal since it's not expecting this.
