Members injected
http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/3507be66d847f672/index.html Theres some going for sale for around $50. Is it a good investment for recording some decent drum tracks? 3 toms, and one kick. i've got a 57 for the snare and i'd be using two mxl pencil overheads. Members Unalaska
I couldn't tell you about the quality of the mics, generally AT mics are decent though I don't recognize any of them and they aren't for sale individually either. There is a fair amount of forgiveness when it comes to tom mics, cheap ones seem to get by ok, and snare too. Kick though is really subjective and a great way to get sound people blabbing for hours on end. A short list of generally accepted kck mics:Shure Beta 52Beta91Audix D6EV ND868AKG D112 (d12)ATM 2500 (dual element one, way cool)ATM25Beyer M88 (?? can't remember the model number) You won't see any cheaper kick mics on the list (audix F14), they just don't have "it". For 50 bucks it would be worth it for the tom mics though and clamps too.
Members soul-x
They're ok. The smaller one is a bit 57-esque. The larger one is kind of woofy, but has its uses. They seem to be built to hold up. They have been for sale individually in the past, in the Midnight Blues line as the MB5k and MB6k.
