New keyboard for our band-practice room,,,,Yamaha CP-50

Well, it's been a while coming, but it looks like we're going another step for our band-practice back-line; I just ordered a keyboard,,,specifically, a Yamaha CP-50 digital piano, and hopefully, I'll be picking it up tomorrow..

It's been quite the hunt. I don't play keys myself, nor do I know much about the particular categories of keyboards. A highly trusted friend suggested I start with a good stage-piano, and build on that later if the need arises. The Yamaha pianos seem to have a good reputation, so I checked out the CP-1, the CP-5, and the CP-50. A Nord Stage 2 was also a strong contender (killer piano and organ sounds. I'm very tempted to go with the Stage 2, but I think I'll put that one off for a while.

I tried hunting for a used digital piano, but the fairly recent Yamaha models, are scarcer than hen's teeth in my area.

Well, I'll be damned. I've been looking for a used keyboard for months now, and nothing. Lo and behold, I just got off the phone with a guy who has a 6-month old CP-50 for sale. He's asking $1100. I'm off to see it in the morning.
