Members Coaster
i got these in a trade of old stuff. they are huge. the guy knows i have a pair of 2445J drivers on 40 degree horns and he said these would work better. they look like giant buttcheeks! i have not tried them yet. the 40 degree horns i have are JBL horns and sound great but very narrow. anyone recognize these? Members Dogoth
Looks like Community to me. I noticed the mounting flange (from a very proprietary enclosure). Are you going to build a curved face box to mount these?
Members Coaster
yeah i would agree with rh60, thanks don. i dont know what i am going to do with them. yesterday i put a 2445J on one and played it in the shop with a 800hz HP filter. bit of honk around 1.8 to 2.2k or so and not much at all above 12k. maybe eq would help. i have a pair of 2226h sitting here without a purpose either. might be time for a new set of old school tops? i dont know if that combo would be better or worse than the HDH4's i currently run. i'm so knee deep in projects it will be late next fall before anything would happen. in any case the rh60's were clear and detailed even when i walked away 120'
Members trevcda
Accidentally posted this in a different thread, but other than the obvious, what's the difference between the baby butt and the more stand square funnel design and when would you use one over the other? Or both in the case of the 4732 type cabs? Any links some light reading on the subject?

They are really more of a device to acoustically load the compression driver. IMHO Really sweet sounding in a good acoustic environment but don't provide much pattern control for poor environments. Members Coaster
i cant find a lot of info on the RH60. a magazine article from 1978 is all so far. they are TWO FEET tall, they are not a small horn! i also have jbl 2386 horns which have such a narrow pattern i havent considered using them for anything yet. both the RH60 and 2386 are biradial but they dont look anything alike. i got the pair of 2445J and 2386 from a demo'd church install that got all new gear. the old stuff was in new condition despite being almost 30 years old. no one knows where the pair of RH60's i have came from. i got them from a guy who got them from a guy i've been listening to one in my shop on top of a peavey 18" in two way and that combo surprisingly awesome like that. crossover at about 800 i havent played with it much because i have been working on this abomination since february. i need it to work in a week and a half, and its got issues but it does work almost. my health isnt so good anymore and i am having serious problems moving and lifting gear so i have devoted many hundreds of hours building this thing. dont laugh, its the best i could come up with
Members agedhorse
The curved front was actually mounted by the side flanges and sat inside a horn bay that was sealed from the rest of the speaker... or were flown without enclosures in distributed systems or "fab on site" clusters (flying junkyard). I did the same thing when I could no longer lift my HDH boxes. Only mine was even more abominable - made of 2x4s and used a come-along ratchet to do the lifting. It looked like a portable mini-gallows.
