Members A.M.Productions
I have a chance to pick up a pair of Turbosound TSE 118 and a pair of Turbosound TSE 111 for about $400. I was told the horns were just replaced. The internal crossover was removed, so i have to bi-amp the tops. Any thoughts on this rig? Its more of a just for fun rig. Members Pro Sound Guy
Good price. I believe the mid 10" driver is a Fane 16 ohm driver. The 18" could be Fane as well. If they are not original then you have Frankenstien boxes. The horns or the compression diaphagms?

Members agedhorse
There have been some real challenges with the supply of the Fane 10" parts used in the TMS series. I used to recone these, the factory parts were NLA, and some of the aftermarket parts were awful. Beware.
Members Pro Sound Guy
Who knows if they are original Fane. Having the right TSP's is a must or those boxes wont perform correctly evenif you triamp or biamp. Also who knows what compression drivers they popped in them. Members agedhorse
Any of the products that have the bog phase plug mid section uses a special Fane driver optimized for mid bass and low midrange. They are pretty unique in that there is not much clearance between the cone and the bottom of the plug, and the cone shape is conical IIRC. I was not able to find an acceptable replacement driver, so worked with a supplier to fabricate some suitable recone parts for my client. This was a few years back and they are no longer doing this either.
Members A.M.Productions
So come to find out, the subs have EV EVX180B drivers in them. Would the old fane/pd drivers sound better, because they arent impressive
Members Pro Sound Guy
What it comes down to is the right loudspeaker for the box that was designed around it. If the Thiele Small Parmametersmatch the original driver then it should be good. If they took any driver and popped it in that box without matching specsthen it is a crap shoot on performance. That EV loudspeaker appears to be a decent one
