Members Unalaska
I've got a half dozen or so audix OM2 mics and all have the paint wearing away on the ball. Anyone had experience with repainting? I don't really want to spend $40ea on new ones
Members Pro Sound Guy
You want to just lightly "dust" the windscreen with a decent spray paint from a distance. Oil sticks to metal pretty good Remove the foam from inside then brush the screens with a light metal brush and then spray them. Hold the nozzle far enough away so you dont apply to much and clog windscreen. Or you can just throw windscreens on them they are cheap. Or you can buy new ones. Or you could just not worry about it. Members agedhorse
You need to prep the metal well. Remove any inside foam, wash ball in detergent and dry, wipe with lacquer thinner, let dry and shoot lightly with an enamal or better an epoxy paint. Even the rattle can epoxy is pretty durable.
