Members vort
Well, it finally happened, just don't know when it happened. At a gig last night I noticed random crackling from one of the PRX612's. It was only noticed when you were close to and/or behind the speaker, so the other frequencies covered it up at a distance. Seemed to occur at different frequencies, as it was not constant. Checked today with a frequency generator, and sure enough, there is distortion starting at 188.8 through 335. 282.5 is the worst distortion. Checked the other box, and it is clear with just a slight buzz at 188.8, and another at 282.5. I will be contacting a local repair shop, but I'm hoping from some insight from the community hear as to what I may be looking at for repairs. Thank you. Members agedhorse
Possibly some loose hardware? Your shop should be able to help you sort this out.
Members vort
Thanks Andy. It appears that is what it was. There was no visible damage to the drivers, but the compression driver was very loose from the horn. Tightened it back up, ran a test with frequency generator and music, and all appears to be well. Thank you again.
