Members Noise...
I'm thinking about maybe getting a synth. I want something with a ton of tonal options, and a good amount of keys. Maybe 61 keys? Obviously I want it to sound good as well... I'd really like to be able to tweak patches on it - you know, adjust parameters and stuff to get different sounds. Would it be possible to get a synth that fits what I want for under $500?

Members Yoozer
I'Maybe 61 keys? You haven't thought this through, have you? Obviously I want it to sound good as well... This answers my previous question . "Good" is ridiculously relative. Lots of stuff needs effects afterwards. I'd really like to be able to tweak patches on it - you know, adjust parameters and stuff to get different sounds. This only removes the lower-end arranger keyboards from the universe of options. Tweaking isn't the problem, the problem is you can do this by blindly grabbing some knobs or by moving your hand carefully and diving through the menus like building a ship in a bottle. Would it be possible to get a synth that fits what I want for under $500? Try a Novation Nova.
