If you are expecting to get anywhere near the 100 song capacity

you will be disapointed. The machine has barely enough memory

for 25 songs averaging 3 minutes duration.

Also the pitch bend feature is either broken or the manual is

so poorly written it is impossible to make use of it.

wow, thanks for the feedback. I spent a solid 45 minutes at G.C. Friday listening to one under headphones - ALMOST ready to pull the trigger. In the end, I'm sticking with my roland R8, korg x50 drums, and SPD 11 sounds. none of the DR880 sounds or default patterns inspired me at all. it's fine and all and may be the best currently available, but it was no better than what I already have

you could midi stuff to/from your laptop to extend the DR880 usable memory space

I think Roland is saying you can have up to 100 songs stored internally. ALL drum machines, or workstations for that matter, internal storage is dependent upon the capacity of internal memory. The longer the song, the less number of songs you will get. Don't be too hard on the DR880, some years ago you would pay a hell of a lot more $$ and get a hell of a lot less.
