What to look for (live setup)

Okay so I'm the lead vocalist and keys of a band that mixes hardcore punk with trance, to say it flat. Think Enter Shikari.

We've only recently begun but I however have trouble with my current gear.

I'm using the Axiom 49 by M-Audio to play VSTs through Ableton Live.

However I can't really run around and do my vocalist-thing and the amount of buttons to actually place loops is very limited.

What I'm looking for is something that enables me to run around on stage, still gives me some control over the patterns and sounds I'm making and preferably something I can connect with my laptop so I have control over how everything sounds.

I'm a big noob when it comes to this stuff, but hey, gotta start somewhere right.

What kind of equipment would be suitable enough for these goals? I hear everyone talk about synths and grooveboxes and sequencers and such, but I don't know the difference, so I don't know exactly what would benefit me.

I look forward to hear from you all.
