Members RayBob Posted September 28, 2009 Members Share Posted September 28, 2009 I saw a keyboardist who had a second synth, a Roland U220 connected to his Roland Juno-g. Tremendous horn patch. How did he do that? The Juno-g keyboard controlled both it's internal synth and the external synth. What combination of In/Out/Thru would accomplish this. I believe he also had a small mixer involved in the rig, blending a patch from the Juno g with a patch from the U220. Or maybe not. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Members Yoozer Posted September 28, 2009 Members Share Posted September 28, 2009 All that needed was a single cable from the Juno-G's MIDI out to the U220 MIDI in. The reason the internal synth sounds too is that by default the MIDI Local setting is switched on; this means any notes from the keys go both to the internal synth and out of the MIDI port. The mixer is pretty much a requirement and can be had for a few bucks; mucking with soldered cables and adapter plugs can go wrong too easily.
