Vintage Korg keys detuning?

Hi

I recently had a couple of 70s korgs given to me (in an extreme stroke of luck). They are the Minikorg 700 (not the 700S model) and Korg Micro Preset.

They seem to be in relatively good working condition except for a few keys on both synths that seem to detune. About 6 keys on the Minikorg and 2 on the Micro sound out of tune and tend to waiver all over the place. Sometimes the tuning is OK if you depress the key lightly but worsens if you press any harder.

Is anyone aware that this a common problem? Some corrosion on contacts or something?

I'd be glad of any advice. I'd love to use these synths properly but unless they sound OK to start with I'm fighting a losing battle.

Hello there,

I've owned a 700s for over 20 years and it's always had a "pitch wobble" on certain keys.

I've had a Kenton CV/Gate fitted and there is no wobble over MIDI.

I always assumed that the problem was a "funny" connection between adjacent key contacts (sorry I'm not very technical).

Paul
