I just put a seymour Duncan full shread in the bridge of my Chavel 275 it is has a 3 way switch a and single volume pot the pickup had 2 wires that were red and white and when I pulled out the orignal pickup they were taped together and not wired to any thing i assumed they were for a tone pot so when I put the new pick up in I did the same with the red and white wires but the new pick up now has no output at all there's no chunk in the palm mutes it makes it sound like I'm playing on a clean channel when in reality in on a pretty dirty channel I dropped the pickup just before I put in the guitar not very hard but it did get dropped could that ahve ruined the magnitizm or did I just wire or not ground it correctly any ideas are appreciated

For standard series humbucking operation on a 4-Conductor wired humbucker the White & Red wires are soldered together and taped; Green is ground and Black is Hot Output. The bare wire is always grounded.

This diagram is close to how your guitar is wired, just leave off the tone control. Make sure there's a wire from the volume pot ground to the output jack.
