Members Shooley
I am building a Firefly amp using a Hammond 369EX, I know which wires I need to connect to match the voltage I need.My question is, what do I do with the rest of the wires? there are 4 wires I don't need.sorry if this sounds dumb but this is my first time building an amp. Thanks
Moderators isaac42 Posted December 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 13, 2016 Terminate them without connecting them to anything else. On my old 60's amps, such wires are soldered to terminals by themselves. Or you could just tape them off, but I think that would be less reliable. Members grayhame
Kinda partial to heat shrink, myself. Ty-rap to keep them out of the way
Phil O'Keefe
Yup - if the ends of the unneeded wires are stripped, cut them off flush with the insulation, then put heat shrink on the wire, and make sure it extends a bit past the end once it's shrunk. Then tie wrap the unused wires to keep things tidy and keep them out of the way.
