Amp mods.............

Tell us about amp mods you have personally done. Then if anyone is interested in doing the same mods to their amps, pm them, I'm sure they'd be glad to help (I know I would).

Oh and tube amps have dangerious voltage, yadayada. Make sure you know what your doing so you don't kill yourself.

I've only taken on a few simple mods myself, but am looking to learn a lot thats why I'm starting this trend, would be a cool one to sticky, i think.

Mods i've done:

Peavey VTM 60:

El-34 mod (some resistor changes, cut a few pcb traces, added some jumpers)

~I'm very happy with this mod, it puts jcm 800's to same. The dip switches on the front make the amp.

Bias mod (resistor out, trim put and diff resistor in)

Choke Mod (big blue resistor out, choke leads in, I also put a switch on the front of the amp to go from choke to original ressitor, theres a sublte difference at high volumes)

Peavey Ultra 120:

Choke Mod - same as above, just no switch.

Fender twin mv to post-phase-inverter. Did the simple way of just doing the Trainwreck mv with the 1 meg across the plates, works well, not great at very low volumes, but above 1 it is pretty much there.

Done many a gain/eq tweak over the years.
