Members Jeremy Skrenes
Raw linseed oil works for me. Once or twice a year. I clean my frets with a rag soaked with lighter fluid or some other alcohol.
Members Stratotone
I use vaseline (don't laugh) to oil my fingerboards on rosewood and ebony. No smell, if you rub it in/out well with a rag it's not greasy, and it seems to work better than anything else I've used. Pete
Moderators AMZ-FX Posted May 6, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted May 6, 2006 My only concern with vaseline is that if you are playing outside on a hot day, the stuff in the pores may melt and get on your hands. Ever experienced that? As to Scott's Liquid Gold, the aerosol version is not recommended as it contains a lot of water. I've not tried the liquid version so I'm not sure about it. regards, Jack
