Members davd_indigo
I just listened to his remembering "the cacophony" at the end of "A Day In The Life". Someone suggested a 90 piece orchestra. George Martin said "we can't afford a 90 piece orchestra". Ringo suggested a 45 piece orchestra and use it twice. The anecdote continues on from there. Both engineers mention how hard Ringo had to work, playing on all the takes of backing tracks for hours at a time.
Members nat whilk II
Emerick's book, Here, There, and Everywhere is one of the best books I've read from the rock music bookshelf. Not that the competition is all that great...but it really is a very good book, very informative, rings true in spirit if not in every detail. nat
