Is That The Chatanooga Choo Choo?

75 years ago, on August 21, 1941, the music comedy film Sun Valley Seranade was released. The hit song from the movie was Chattanooga Choo Choo by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra. The song was perfomed twice in the film, once as a rehearsal with the full band, whistled and sung by Tex Beneke and the Modernaires, and again as a song-and-dance number with The Nicolas Brothers and Dorothy Dandridge

The very first gold record ever was awarded to Glenn Miller in February 1942 commemerating the sale of 1.2 million copies of Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Reminds me of a dumb joke:

Roy Rogers took Trigger into town to buy himself a new pair of snakeskin boots. On the way home a cougar jumped up and bit up his boots. When he got home with the dead cougar laying across his saddle, Dale Evans came out to meet him, pointed at the cougar and sang "Pardon me Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"

I searched on the song title and found that the music was written by Harry Warren. In my travels listening to NPR I became aware of Harry Warren's musical career from some radio story years ago. Interesting character from the old Tin Pan Alley, and later the 30's and 40's Hollywood movies. He was credited with composing 300 popular songs in movies.
