Phil O'Keefe
I'm not sure if the sounds are the same or if they've been upgraded or improved, but according to Casio's product web page for the MZ-X500, it does use a MXi sound source. http://www.casiomusicgear.com/products/menu_mz-x/mz-x500
Members workstation M.I
What I'm hoping for is that the MXi at least meets my expectations, in terms of the acoustic sounds and that "trouble patches" like french horn, trombone, tuba, violin and flute sound better than they ever have before on a Casio Keyboard.
