If the sounds come from samples then- what in the world do you gain by hosting those samples on all these little tape machines??The warble in the sound presumably comes from the samples used since the walkmans dont warble like that. I understood that The original mellotrons had clunky tape transport mechanisms that resulted in the warble- thats the heart of the sound. So, as for this being a means to replicate the mellotron sounds cause they are using tape- I dont get it. Its all just a really clever rub-goldberg way of hosting the samples.
