Members Alndln2
I remember discussing this in Craigs SSS at the old Musicplayer. Looks like the NoiseBlaster guy's win this one. Personally I really don't care as I have no use for either company or portable players, but some might be interested.

Members MorePaul
Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually interested, not b/c I have any affiliation or loyalty to product (I've owned products from both, but big deal) I *AM* interested from the standpoint of how the IP shakes out who's (if anyone) going to get a target painted on their back now, was there no petition for reexam, etc
Members spokenward
Engadget reminded that Apple had two potential problems with CREAF. link to Engadget Apple had a very weak claim to the name "Nano" because CREAF had a prior use. "This settlement resolves all of our differences with Creative, including the five lawsuits currently pending between the companies, and removes the uncertainty and distraction of prolonged litigation." Apple Press release Apple also said that they will participate in revenues from CREAF licensing of the interface.

Members G-bus
A drop in the bucket, compared to what Apple truly owes Creative for stealing their technology.
