Members Chucksweet
I know he has been very sick for awhile.I loved his work. He was an amazing sax player and a great human being. Michael Brecker, a versatile and much-studied jazz saxophonist who won 11 Grammys over a career that spanned more than three decades, died Saturday at age 57. http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2007-01-13-brecker-sax_x.htm?csp=34 Chuck

Members Jeff da Weasel
A great, great musician. As I've mentioned 18 billion times, I'm a huge fan of Joni Mitchell. Just a few days back, I was watching the Shadows & Light DVD. While it's great seeing her band (Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Don Elias and Lyle Mays) recreating her amazing compositions, what made it really special was Michael's sax playing, bringing tremendous energy to the live versions of these tunes. Definitely one of a special class of musicians who contributed something unique to everything he touched. RIP. - Jeff
Moderators Lee Knight Posted January 14, 2007 Moderators Share Posted January 14, 2007 Oh man. He was one of the few who could play the pop sessions right, and the hard jazz right, while never whimping out. Solid and hot. Here's to you MB.
