Rock Video Recommendation Urgently Needed!

Need your help, gang - and yes, I *did* search the

forum. I know I saw a thread about this a year or so ago,

but apparently my search terms could use some improvement.

I know it's in there somewhere. But in the meantime:

Looking for recommendations for a gift for someone who

is having a hip replacement Monday, and will be recuperating

at home. This fellow is a major classic rock fan, with tastes

leaning heavily toward the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,

Heart (these are rock DVDs he already owns.) Also has

"Festival Express." I don't think he's enough of a Band

fan to properly appreciate "Rock of Ages," alas. And yes,

owns both "Spinal Taps" already.

So where do I go from here?

I *really* wanted to get him the "Tower of Power" DVD, but

alas, the video concert was NOT titled "What is Hip."

Here we go...

There was a Doors concert I remember seeing once. I don't remember which one it was, but I do remember being blown away by what an amazing frontman Jim Morrison was, and how the band could drift off into some psychodelic otherworld, and as soon as Jim jumped, the band was RIGHT THERE on que.

I want to say, they were filmed by some Italian film crew, but it's really been too long. Maybe someone else has seen it and could give you the info. I'd highly recommend it.

Pink Floyd's 'pulse' reissue is great if he doesn't own it yet. Here's a few selections my DVD catalog you might think of.

Rush in Rio

John Fogerty- The Long Road Home

Doobie Brothers- Live at Wolf Trap

Jimmy Buffett- Live at Wrigley Field

Cream- Royal Albert Hall reunion show

Moody Blues- Lovely to See You

Journey - Live 1981

Thanks for all the recommendations. What I ended up

ordering was a Hendrix documentary with concert footage.

Highly rated, and it sounds like something we'd both enjoy

watching. (He's already got "Pulse," by the way - that was

a Christmas present.)
