Ever get the feeling you`re being fired?

Just got an email from my boss yesterday around 6p to inform me that he and the staff have to speak to me immediately. This has never happened before so I`m wondering what the heck is up.

He is also not one to call meetings suddenly, he likes everything planned way in advance, like 3-4 months so I`m sort of holding my breath.

We are meeting tonight at 5p.

I tried contacting him twice via email and twice via phone, he has not responded. Its not the type of job that you actually have to go to so... I can`t just stop in his office. You also need to have an appointment, you just can`t walk in.

Also called another staff member I am close to, he said he knew nothing.

We`ll see...

I`ve been jittery all day. In a way I`m expecting something like this because I`ve been planning a move for some time now but I wasn`t planning on making a move for another year or so.

Maybe thats just the universe telling me I`m ready to move right now!

So you're expected 23 hours later?

When did you start working there,...it's not something like an anniversary? Did you {censored} up something? Did you ride upon his wife's legs? Does he want you to?

23 hours man,.......what kind of bussiness is that anyways? Getting something over with immediatley is not 23 hours later.

Maybe you get a promotion....??

Funny thing... I just got a text message from a new client saying "put the project on hold I'll call you later." Turns out the real estate brokerage he works for has a hookup that will allow him to use a turnkey real estate website that will deliver all the features he thought he wanted and then some... so... he said he'd pay me for my time so far. (Which is nice, since it's been a handshake deal. Of course, the rubber hasn't met the road yet. Let's just hope the rubber doesn't hit the checkbook. Real estate market around here is pretty darn dead, right now...)

So, as Bill Clinton once famously said, I think I might just "feel your pain."

;)

Good luck, Ernest. It'll all work out for the better eventually. I just hope the short term is okay, too.

Can`t get into details right now but yes immediately where I work can be anywhere from 24 hours to 6 months.

I`ve been there for 9 years with a year sabbatical. Never did anything to piss anyone off but my boss likes everyone to know hes the boss so we`ll see.

The fact that the staff wants to see me makes me feel strange. Usually when you`re getting fired, its one on one with the big guy. The staff is somewhere between 5-8 people, depending on who he invites so we`ll see. We`ll know more in 90 minutes.

Fun fun...

Alright folks, the ax came down today. The reason being that I said some things in written form that completely go against company policy and really ticked off the powers that be. Looking back on this I realize I was subconsciously doing this because I wanted to get fired. I know that sounds crazy but I`ve been doing some deep soul searching the last month or so and I realize now it was just a matter of time before I either left on my own or I was escorted out.

I hold no negatives towards this and I am actually grateful because I believe this will speed up the process of where I need to be.

Although this was a sudden and unexpected, deep down I was harboring thoughts that the end of this relationship was near.

I won`t get into any more details but again, I am grateful that this has happened even though I am still trying to figure it out.

Send me strength and vision.

be Lucky,

EB

Yeah, 'n all of those outfits suck big time. All those features promised are seldom there, no video or audio streaming allowed, go over the minuscule bandwidth and take out a loan. Lots of bad {censored} with those outfits if a person needs more than a minimal website. And, that person will have to maintain the site anyway, with few, if any exceptions.

Superlative, Advanced Access, care to share the name?

The guy will likely be back once he's found out how little he gets for the money they charge.

I looked hard at several of those services. The one huge claim is 900 pages of content. We both know that really ain't squat, particularly when it's static, generic content that is on their servers and most of it co-used by the majority of subscribers. Most of them give no actual storage numbers, nor do they give an actual bandwidth allowance that allows any reasonable transfer of information other than document data files. No or few pictures, no audio and no video. Number one, the storage limits are too small and the bandwidth is minute, maybe 500MB, often less. Most are also affiliated with Network Solutions and charged about $25.00, or more, annually for the domain name.

The brokerages have an in with one or two, sometimes it's a particular location's manager that has the relationship. New agents are normally the ones that get fished in and spend anywhere from $25.00 to $50.00 and more per month and the only thing they really get is a web presence. For audio of video property presentations other services are pushed, at a normally substantial cost when other, much more reasonable, or free alternatives are available.

Lotta {censored} going on there that take the un-educated for one hell of a lot of money for little.

Oh, linking to the local MLS is another huge scam they use and charge hard for when it's freaking freely available to anyone.
