Members deanmass
I watched this movie last night. Honestly, it was not as funny as I thought, but it did hit on damn near every music biography cliche there is, so I think there are FEW musicians who will not enjoy this movie.. The child blues thing alone is worth it...
Members Dean Roddey
Yeh, I saw it night before. It wasn't up there with Talladega Nights, but it was pretty good. It swung a little too wide sometimes, but anyone who knows all the bio-pics will get the jokes and in some places it does much better.

Moderators Lee Knight Posted April 29, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2008 I liked it for the fact it wasn't a fall down in laughter kind of flick. I found it to be a little more memorable that way. Plus... it was nice seeing the girl from The Office in a hottie role.
Members lowendnyc
It wasn't as funny as I was expecting either, but the songs were actually pretty decent. Still chuckling over the innocent/dirty duet song. Also got quite a laugh out of the Tim Meadows bit introducing marijuana to Dewey.

Phil O'Keefe
My wife rented it a week or so ago via Netflix. She watched it first, then said I should probably see it. I hadn't even heard of it previously. It's pretty rank in some spots, but I thought it was a decent movie and definitely had some funny moments. It's definitely funnier if you know the history of Ray Charles, Brian Wilson, Johnny Cash etc. and if you've seen movies like Walk The Line and Ray.
