Members Jeff da Weasel
And who says that Money can't buy happiness? It's tough to say. Wait time for a typical liver transplant where the patient is in danger of dying is 12 days. We have no idea how long Steve waited, or how severe his case was, or when he put in the request for the organ. I don't think we can judge him based on this without the info. In any case, hope he lives long and prospers. Well, he's already prospered, so here's to long life.

Members Billster
And who says that Money can't buy happiness? If you've ever seen what a transplant patient goes through, "happiness" isn't a word associated. Then again, they say "the only you thing you can't buy is good health", so we'll see how this pans out.

Members techristian
My Aunt had a liver transplant over 20 years ago and she is still kicking today. Eventually all of the cells were replaced by her own and so no longer needs anti-rejection medication. Liver transplants are amazing. Dan

Members blue2blue
My best wishes to him. He's been one of the smartest business leaders in the industry, looks to me. I'm not a Mac fan but my admiration for Jobs as a businessman and industry leader is very high.

She had sudden liver failure, doctors don't know what caused it. She happened to be in the right place at the right time. She had moved to San Diego 3 years ago, so she was able to get treated by some of the leading liver transplant specialists in the US. Thankfully she was able to find a match within 24 hours. Had it been another 24 hours she wouldn't have made it, and if she would have been living here in San Antonio she might not have been so lucky. she's still doing fine today!
