Members share
I don't trust the government, it lies too much. If all the lies were discovered, history would have to be rewritten.

Members Dessalines
The government exists and it exists to make and execute the laws that define our relations with each other. Somebody has to do those jobs and we should respect, not denigrate that. Corruption exists in the private sector too, we call it white collar crime. Not every CEO is corrupt and not every politician is corrupt either. CEO's are not subject to the whim of the citizen's vote, politicians are. The level of wealth stolen by the corrupt in the private sector far exceeds what is stolen in government. Google Enron, or AIG vs. Goldman Sachs. The vote is the voice you are provided to make your wishes known if you care to speak. In many nations, those who speak are in prision. Don't vote and maybe they will take that one voice away and then if you suddenly decide to drop your cynicism and speak, you can spend some time in prison for doing then what you can freely do now. Finally, we the people decide that we want many things, roads, bridges, schools, security, a military, and many other things. However, it appears to me that we want them but we want somebody else to pay for them or for the forces of heaven to magically make them appear.
