Members Ernest Buckley
That was very cool. Hearing how JL started out with the basic ideas and then expanding and then eventually settling into something... nice to know I`m not the only one that spends years writing, re-writing, editing a tune before pressing record. Members Philter
Very cool, makes me feel much better about my own process. What frightens me is if I heard the early versions and didn't know who it was, I wouldn't think much of it. So much for recognizing a diamond in the rough. Members Phait
I don't think a song should take that long. Not even half a year.
Members Cirrus
I don't think a song should take that long. Not even half a year. Why? Sometimes it takes years before you get the next bit of inspiration. Sometimes the whole song comes out in a day. The only thing i don't think you should do when writing a song is force it to be finished before it's ready.
Members techristian
Because I was working a day job, I first made a demo in 1988. 15 years or more later I wrote an entire instrumental for the same song. The CD is finished now? but I haven't done the cover yet. I will be doing a video soon. If you walk away from a project for a while, you will come back to it later with new ears.
