Members rasputin1963
Okay, around 1970, when I was 7, there was this pop song I remember, medium-light vocal pop, sung by a single male singer. It had an interesting melody, and each time the verse would recur, there was a different variant upon the initial refrain. The refrains went something like: "Leaving the streetlight behind" "Leaving the red light behind." "Leaving the new one behind." What on earth was this pop song. I would say it was a Bobby Sherman-type song, but I've scoured Sherman's oeuvre from that period, and haven't located it. I've managed to locate nearly all of my "unidentified" childhood songs online... with the exception of this one. Any ideas?

To my childish head, I thought he was saying "streetlight". Bravo, and thanks.
