Members rasputin1963
May he RIP. Just that organ intro to "Light My Fire" is enough to get him into the rock 'n' roll pantheon.
Members Anderton
Yes...I'm personally very bummed, I always used to run in Ray at trade shows and we'd yak for a while. My band opened for the Doors back in the 60s and we sort of ran in the same circles. The thing about Ray was that he was a total gentleman. The world needed more people like him, not less, but now there's one less. He had a good run, though, and he realized his potential on many levels. Members WRGKMC
This is the first I hear of it. Thats too bad, He was one of my favorite keyboardists.I suppose we need to get used to this happening because so many great musicians of that era are getting to that age now. Moderators Lee Knight Posted May 25, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 25, 2013 I loved him for all the reasons mentioned above. And the fact that he saw something in the band X and decided to produce that first album is astounding to me. He just kept doing it. A true original thinker.
