CMS Author MikeRivers Posted June 16, 2013 CMS Author Share Posted June 16, 2013 There's little that you can do to blow something up other than connect the power amplifier output to a mic input. For general purpose mixing, if you have a mono power amplifier, connect it to the mono output. If you have a stereo power amplifer and want to use it as such, connect it to the left and right outputs. As I recall, there are two connectors for each of the main mix outputs, an XLR and a 1/4" phone jack. If your amplifier has balanced inputs, use the XLR outputs. If it has unbalanced inputs, use the 1/4" jack. If you don't know the difference, check the manual for your amplifier. Threre's an article on my web site about what balanced and unbalanced connections mean. The balanced outputs on the Kelsey are of the type that either need to be connected to a balanced input, or, if you want to connect it to an unbalanced input, you must leave pin 3 of the XLR disconnected. If it's grounded (a common way of connecting a balanced output to an unbalanced input) that will casuse distortion.
