  • My Final Resting

I'm just in the processes of writing the tune, nothing recorded yet.

Always in the editing mode when writing songs.

My Final Resting Place- By Mikeo

    G
Working like a dog in the mid-day sun
    C
Where the working day is never done
    G
Burning blisters, with a shovel in my hands
    C D G
A hard days work will kill a man

    Chorus
    C
    Lord take away the pain
    G D
You know I can’t go on this way
    C G D
Put me in the ground and take me away
    C D G
    to my final resting place

Digging for gold for an honest wage
Searching for the truth, on a dollar a day
From Sunrise to sunset, to live another day
there’s got to be a better way

No whiskey water, been there before
Have a little mercy when I get heavens doors
Working my way to those pearly gates
I get down on my knees and I pray.

Good one, in the tradition of "Sixteen Tons" and "Chain Gang" and "Aragon Mill" and "The L&M Doesn't Stop Here Anymore."

      Sounds pretty solid.
      I added at the end:

      I pray every day
      I pray every day
      That she'll be
      Coming my way

Hm. Who's "she"? There's no woman in the song. I don't think it follows.
