Members LCK
It was nice being a DJ, playing a lot of dreck, and finding a nifty little song by Canadian Christian-Communist songwriter Bruce Cockburn that stood a chance on the pop charts. "Wondering Where the Lions Are" (1979).

And he's going to be in Austin here Nov 15th....a long career. Yes, Mr. C can be heavy company at times, as fellow Canadian Joni says about herself somewhere. Pacing The Cage - works that metaphor so well. What's he on about? Death? The Rilke poem about the Tiger pacing in the cage? The limits of the individual? Life on earth? The body? Some temporary stuckness in life? All or none of these? Take your pick - I think it's a great song: nat whilk ii
Members LCK
Wonderful! I love the easy tenor of his voice (in the sense of the 2nd definition of the word), and the bass solo toward the end. The song's meaning? I think we're all pacing the cage to one degree or another. This song ^ reminds me that "Wondering Where the Lions Are" is not my favorite Bruce Cockburn song by any stretch. Two in particular come to mind... "The Coldest Night of the Year." (Man, I love his bass player!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRh5qc0ALHk And "How I Spent My Fall Vacation." Members mbfrancis
Bruce Cockburn, funny - when OGP and LeeK were working on "Ravenhurst Road" (what happened to that?) all I could think was how much it reminded me of 'If I Had a Rocket Launcher'....the same rage, the same desire to burn the place down. Members oldgitplayer
^^^ You might well ask, "What has happened to the celebrated Mr. K?" - we all miss him around here.
