Members lossforgain
I love my Tama Starclassic kit, and this is the snare drum that came with it. The Starclassic Performer series high quality 100% birch. This is the EFX line of covered finish drums, which means good-looking AND durable. This drum beat out other birch snare drums as a keeper for me -- it sounds phenomenal. Punchy and dry with lots of CRACK, due to the birch shell and die cast hoops. The drum is 100% original, and other than a superficial scratch on the badge, there are NO marks or scuffs on the drum at all -- it's like NEW. The finish is very white with zero fade. Best price I can find on a new one is $299, but most places sell them for $350 or more. Mine is 1/3 less! EDIT: $188 shipped in the US48!
