Members lossforgain Posted June 30, 2009 Members Share Posted June 30, 2009 This is a great drum with fantastic tone. She's a 3ply Hollywood Ace, meaning 8 lugs and rapid strainer. She has the 70s black-silver Niles badge and tan interior. Snares are generic replacements. I'd say she's in great condition for a player. Issues: The lugs show some minor pitting and superficial scratches. The interior is a little rough (see pic) but that's from the FACTORY -- there is not a shell or rering crack, it just appears that the interior of the shell is missing its final wood ply under the seam area of the rering. Good stuff: The wrap has very little fade, if ANY, and the seam is tight. The strainer works smoothly and easily. The muffler works well and moves easily. The edges are original and work well, tuning is easy. Did I mention the drum sounds great? I wasn't sure I wanted to sell this drum, but haven't yet had any takers on my Tama Starclassic kit, so I may be forced to let go of items I don't want to in order to fund another instrument purchase.
