Members rayboomboom Posted July 23, 2009 Members Share Posted July 23, 2009 I'm looking for something to use as an Aux Kick and as a big drum with my percussion setup. 20" to 26". I'd like to get an old marching drum, but I can make something else work. Needs to be: round (or really close) complete or mostly complete playable with some work done on it. It doesn't need to be beautiful, have a nice finish or even have both heads. I'm not looking for 'that special drum', funky is fine:thu: But of course, if you have something nicer I'd still be interested if the price is right. Members BatheInVice Posted August 8, 2009 Members Share Posted August 8, 2009 I have a vintage clear zicko's 22 x 18 kick. there's a pretty noticeable crack starting at the right spur. It's nothing too crazy though, and although I couldn't tell you how affected the tone is from the crack, I'd guess not at all/not noticeably. It still sounds wonderful. I want a new kick anyways. Yeah, it's got the tension rods, and lugs and hoops, just no tom mount, or spurs. I wrapped it in black vinyl, covered up where the mount was, used the spurs on another bass drum.
