Members lossforgain
I bought this recently and it's a sweet little drum. The information I got is that it's a shell of Pear wood, made as a prototype in anticipation of Ludwig's anniversary year. It's got the Epic throwoff, which makes me think it was either intended as an Element SE proto, or an Epic Centurian proto. I have not been able to confirm this as of yet. The drum itself is an unbadged 5x14, 7-ply unreinforced shell with 10 bowtie lugs and a beautiful natural clear lacquer finish. She has a bright, yet woody voice. To find the best tone, I put a Fiberskyn Ambassador on (it's still brand new) and was VERY pleased with the result. The tone is meaty and full, with plenty of articulation and sensitivity. Great drum, sorry to let it go. No dings, dents, shell or hardware problems -- like new! Only $169 shipped in the US48!
