Members BT944 Posted July 8, 2014 Members Share Posted July 8, 2014 Made in Japan. 1988 Bass is in extraordinarily good shape for its age. Mechanically its perfect with no issues. Olympic white (cream colored) with white 3 ply pickguard. Cosmetically some imperfections; a small ding as pictured right below the middle volume knob, a small chip near the neck plate and minor scuff near the bridge above the strap button that is difficult to see. Back of the bass is excellent with no scratches - amazingly! Headstock is clean with no nicks or dings. Fretboard is mint with no wear marks at all. Strung with flatwounds. 34" scale, rosewood fretboard, EMG pickups and a fantastic neck that plays like butter with no dead spots. As far as I know its all original although I am not 100% sure. This is a really great bass that any player will be thrilled to own. In my opinion I find the Japan Fenders of this era play just as nicely as the American basses at a much more reasonable cost.. Selling because I am trimming down my collection. Bass weight is 9.4 lbs on bathroom scale. Comes with a hardshell case that I will use for shipping. Case is very usable, perhaps for one of your other basses! It does not contour to the Jazz body. $550.00 includes insured ground shipping to lower 48. E-mail for AK, HI or PR cost.
