While moving from Alabama to Ohio three years ago it was stored three or four months. The summer heat caused the clear finish to crack from the bottom edge to the string base by the whole. Other than a musical store to fix it at a high cost, what can I do at home to seal those cracks in the finish? Some sugestions will be much appreciated. It hangs on a wall post with loose strings since I fear tightening will break the flat wood. Help please... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderators daddymack Posted March 16, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 16, 2017 As it doesn't sound like you have a lot of luthiery experience, I suggest you not try to DIY.The cracked finish itself should not adversely effect playability...sound, maybe yes, though.Find a local qualified repairman and get an estimate.
