I bought the D-1 new around 2000 and it is in practically the same shape as when I bought it. Solid spruce, non glossy top, mahogany back and sides. Very, very nice - no dings, dents or scratches. The only thing I ever did to it was to lower the action by taking a little bit of material off the bottom of the bridge saddle. The action is really low, and it sounds like a million bucks.
