The Budda SD30 is a 30-watt EL84 tube based amp, designed to capture the 'brown tone', but with a few tonal twists. It has 2 foot-switchable channels

The overall layout is fairly straight forward, and fitting for a great rock amp. The two channels share the same master volume and EQ, but have separate gain controls. There is a push/pull knob on the clean channel's gain control which acts as a bright switch and one on the shared 'miss' control which changes the voicing between a vintage mids-heavy sound and a more modern scooped feel.

The overall tone of the SUperdrive is very unique. It aims to capture the modded Marshall brown tone, but steps far out of the original formula. The EL-84's give it a different sort of feeling and response. At 30 watts you can really push the EL84's to saturation and get some very rich and full overtones. Its really wonderful. However, it is darker sounding them most Vox-ish EL84 clones out there. Really an original tone with a lot of individual character. The amp also has a tube rectifier, which is uncommon for a higher gain boutique amp, it adds a touch of vintage warmth to everything you play.

The clean channel is truly effective for shimmering cleans ranging from 'ballsy' to straight up dirty. When pushed hard it can be a great mid-gain drive channel as well. The bright switch is very effective in making this channel 'jump out' when using a darker guitar such as an SG. Overall I find this amp responds well to all guitars, allowing their individual characters to come thru. When used with a great Tele, there is a nice twang to it, while plugging in with a P90 Les Paul really lets you hear the richness of that full woodsy sound. I find this to be the mark of a great amp
