Members Mikeo Posted September 19, 2016 Members Share Posted September 19, 2016 I am basically a guitar player, but along the way I purchased a set of real drums to use in my cellar home studio. A few years ago, I was looking for a digital kit that I could maybe rehearse on and not drive my wife and pets crazy. After trying several from different manufactures, I bought the Yamaha DTX 522 set. They actually sound very fine, and I can pound on them all day with barely more than a little thud being heard. Even if you are a true die hard acoustic drummer and have a dozen kits kicking around, I highly recommend having a digital kit available. In the control module, I have found a nice birch kit and a maple kit I really dig. I have them tuned and tweaked to my liking. When I'm not using them I store them in a Rubbermaid/ Sterlite foot locker. I'd probably be a better drummer if I wasn't playing my guitar daily, or my mandolin. Levon Helm , sometime would step away from his drum kit and play a little mandolin. I step away from my guitar and mandolin, and play little drums.
