Members 1001gear
Glad you're motivated. To me it's just chaotic doubles, triples, and some foot thrown in.

I just liked it because it was different, outside the norm and not the same "Chick-Sound" or "Slurpy" hats we mostly hear. ;-)
Members 1001gear
True. Mostly what it is, is Buddy Rich, Louie Bellson and asstd others already had that routine patented as early as the 40s and 50s. Being known soloists, their sticking was clean and precise and more often than not, in perfect swing time. Not to demean anybody good enough for Ellington mind you. Just saying, when it's chops, it better be hot.
