Would use something like that.

 

I currently use 2 Beyer ribbon mics for my overheads, and a Beyer M88 for the kick.

 

I'm not sure if I need the mixer, but what the heck.

The overhead mics are intended to create some separation between the left and right sides of the kit. However, left and right channels are from the player's perspective -- rather than the audience. So, would it make sense to reverse the right and left outputs, so that the visual matches the audio from the audience's perspective? In other words, as the player fills from left to right (as most right-handed drummers do), the audience sees the fill as going from right to left. If the audio outputs were reversed, the audience would see what it hears! Does this make sense?
