In 1952, Buddy Rich would have been a WFL endorser. I can't make out if this auction is saying this was one of Buddy's kits, or a repro. Either way, the configuration as listed is wrong. Buddy played a 24" or sometimes a 22" bass drum, a 13" tom, and two 16" floor toms. Always a canister throne. There is only one floor tom listed in the auction.

Buddy was fanatical about the construction, sizes, and layout of his kits. His stands were never adjustable height. They were always made to the correct height at the factory specifically for Buddy. And Buddy would measure them when they came to him. If they were off by a 1/4", he would throw a {censored} fit. Same thing with his canister throne. William F. Ludwig II and III, and Ben Strauss at Rogers loved dealing with Buddy. He was one of the few drummers that demanded something in between 50-90k a year in addition to his drums for his endorsement deal. Plus, you had to put up with his bull{censored}.
